Ty Lawson pleaded guilty to underage drinking putting an end to the legal escapade from last June.
From ACC Now:
North Carolina point guard Ty Lawson pleaded guilty today on a charge of driving after consuming alcohol under age.
Lawson had already completed 26 hours of community service, an alcohol assessment and a four-page report on the impact of drinking and driving as part of a plea agreement. Prosecutors dismissed a driving while license revoked charge and a noise ordinance violation.
No word on what action Roy intends to take over this misstep. I tend to think it will be handled privately.

I would much rather have the punishment from the county than a punishment from Roy. Hopefully, he won’t be suspended for a game, but he will likely get some type of punishment from the coach.
If I had to hazard a guess I would say lots of running. Lots and lots of running.
I agree WB3.
It would send a pretty bad message not to punish him. As it was off-season and he is doing community service I don’t think the punishment should be a big statement, but I’m sure Roy has some good ideas…..
Good job getting things cleaned up Ty, now you know it’s much easier to get it over with and move on. A good life lesson I hope. I’ve had a few of those myself.
Me too Wilf. I hate those!
When I was coming up college age kids could drink a few, talk, and pretty much enjoy themselves without appearing to be juvenile, and it wasn’t a taboo thing to do. Now it looks as it has become a more “rebellious” act.
Can you imagine a teenage Steve McQueen, Louis Lamore, John Wayne without a cold one? Now, it is outlawed. Which means those guys would still probably pop one open.
Yeah, it’s like being under a microscope for kids now days.
I was always under my parent’s microscope. But the media scope, WOW!
If he’s not suspended for at least the first couple games there is something wrong. This is a major offense. They have to show some discipline. Come on Roy!!! Teach those boys a lesson. It’s not going to hurt the team.
