If I had to offer a prediction I think UNC will be the #2 overall seed. Louisville is going to snag the top spot followed by UNC, Pitt and either Memphis or UConn. That is a coin flip in my opinion.
Jerry Palm who I surmise is better than Joe Lunardi at this business has his bracket projections up here. Palm put UNC as the #1 overall.
Venting and comments if you have them and profanity allowed if somehow Duke ends up with a #1 seed.

I think Carolina holds on to the #1 overall, with Louisville 2. Pitt and Memphis round things out. Their respective 2 seeds will be Kansas (because the committee is like that), Michigan State (because I think they’ll want Pitino in the Final Four), Duke, and UConn.
3 out of 3 major brackets have Syracuse has the 4 in our region.
Yeah and given UNC-SU history in the NCAA Tournament I can do without that. On the other hand, SU has a tendency to get beat early, especially after such a draining BET run.
You scared me THF! I thought you said, “UNC will be a #2 seed” not, “UNC will be the #2 overall seed”.

And remember, uncgirl, Duke drawing the G’boro pod may seem like it benefits them (and it does in terms of travel) but there will be a TON of Tar Heels there ready to boo the K and company right off the court. (I thnk THF already mentioned this.) So if any of these teams can hang with Duke, that place will get louder and louder for the upset!

Gonzaga has been overrated all year. Oklahoma is also somewhat overrated. This bracket is not as bad as it has been for us in the past.
wizard- Memphis does not scare me. lot of wins in a poor conference. OU has a known big man in griffin.
i saw OU play several times. i thought they were pretty darn good.

Oklahoma could get on a run, just as well I think their best games are behind them. Their guard play could be suspect, even if Griffin is beastly. I’m picking Ariz State / Oklahoma potential sweet 16 match
South region, at least initial glance, not overly tough as say, the Midwest bracket. Don’t care for the potential 2nd round match-up for UNC.
I want to pick FSU for some damage in the EAST region, following their performance today willing to second-guess that. Same analogy extends to Wake in their region…Wake better be watching tape from 1986…Cleveland State !
Great draw, in my opinion. We got the #3 overall despite the FSU loss. From my perspective, we didn’t get bumped down for the loss of Ty; rather, we ended up right where we should have been thanks to the Ty consideration. Duke got very little traction from the ACCT. They have it pretty tough…no, VERY tough. I don’t fear Gonzaga. I don’t think Oklahoma will even get to the Elite Eight. It seems that CBS are very, very hot for Pittsburgh.
UConn coming out of west bodes well for them, as Greg Gumble mentioned about six times. They won it all in 1999 and 2004 from that region. However, in 2005 both UNC and Dook played in Greensboro.
Okay, Packer being gone is truly wonderful. But the way Clark Kellog and his punctual “s” whistles (the noise he makes when he finishes words with the letter s) salivated over both Gerald Henderson and Kyle Singler were a bit munch.
So this is the status of the two major ACC titans. UNC get the top billing (AGAIN), while Dook take the seconds. Any thoughts on how pointed The Rat King was in that post game conference?

Everybody has their own point of view, but I think UNC got a pretty good draw with its region. OU seems to be the worst #2 seed and I’m not going to complain about Syracuse or Gonzaga. No excuses this time. The team will either get to the final four and see what happens, or we will close a chapter on this squad.
I don’t think a fan blog pool would work so well, given the obvious slant of this selection of college basketball followers. Now, if we start a pool on when Duke might go out that’s another discussion
DF – Great post and right on. We got the most favorable draw in years. I am in PA and did not see Rat Face and did not hear him defend his team as “not losers!” We all know better.
The reaction by Rat Face has to be a huge admission of what a hollow victory their win was today!
We will have a bracket contest here which may or may not include a prize. I think it will be fun to see who wins a contest in which everyone picks UNC to win the title.

WB3 – I run a pool each year in which everyone plays against The Wizard. Guess what, no one in this blog will be invited for the obvious reason. We play for Morgan silver dollars with the lower scores paying The Wizard and vice versa! Too much fun!
I always do multiple brackets. I’ll have 4 or five on espn.com, four five at home and two in a pool with friends and such. It’s a guilty pleasure of mine.
