Team USA loses in the medal semifinals.
After throttling Bulgaria in the quarterfinals, Team USA gave way a ten point lead in the fourth quarter to lose 69-68 versus Russia. The Russians outscored Team USA 20-9 in the final period of play to close out the win. Deon Thompson shook off a six point, five rebound performance in the quarterfinals to record a double-double versus Russia. Thompson had 12 points and 11 boards in a losing effort.
USA will take on Israel for the bronze medal on July 11th.

Off topic,
Just read about the sumer league on the Pacers web site and looks like Tyler is doing great so far.
Hansbrough and Hibbert both were named first-team all-summer league.
“(Hansbrough) is everything we thought he would be,” said Larry Bird. “The skill level is there and the work ethic is there.
Lawson will start his games on Tuesday.
Danny Freaking green and Jawad williams will start today for the cavs.
^^^^^Danny Freaking Green ended up with 4of6 from the three with 16 points, Jawad Williams ended up with 14 points.
One of the wonderful perks of winning a championship for myself is every time I go to ESPN and go to the Heels page the last score is always posted. Most years this is a painful memory of how we ended the season or how the Refs screwed us (see Georgetown video). Still great to be a Tar Heel fan.
