Hansbrough Will Not Play vs Kentucky[UPDATED]

So sayeth Roy.

Nothing substantive beyond that.  Is it just further precaution?  Is the injury not healing? Did Roy not feel comfortable inserting him back into lineup with only one practice before the game?

I am think it is one and three but feel free to speculate.

UPDATE: ACC Now does their usual outstanding job of getting the goods.  It sounds like they are being conservative but also trying to get his conditioning in order before moving forward.  Based on that, it seems that they are trying to ramp him up to a full workload and see if the shin handles it or not.  So if I had to guess at this point I’d say he plays in Maui and they might even wait for the 2nd game since the first one is against Chaminade who they should beat despite what happened in 1981 to UVa.

Rumors of Cam Sexton starting against NC State may have been exaggerated as was the head coach actually naming him as the starter.

It’s Not How Much Money You Spend…

…but how you play the game.

Someone posted this link on IC.  It is a listing of all the Division I basketball programs and how much they spent in 2007.  #1 on the list is Kentucky who spent $9.2 million during the 2007 season.  At the very bottom of the list is VMI who spent roughly 1% of Kentucky’s budget on their basketball program, $99,285 to be exact.

How did that translate on the court Friday night?

VMI 111 UK 103

We all know money can’t buy love or happiness.  Apparently it cannot buy you a win over a vastly underfunded opponent either.

UNC Basketball/Football Blowout Open Thread

Either you have the DVR recording one and watching the other, are going to a sports bar or found some new fangled way of being able to watch two things at once sucessfully.  At any rate, we have the gridiron Heels three wins from playing in the ACC title game and the Tar Heel basketball team opening up the season as a unanimous #1 as a favorite to win the national title.  And through the wonder of the ABC’s scheduling we get them on at the same time.  Good times to be sure.

Comments if you have them.
